What Is AcceleDent Aura?
AcceleDent Aura is a type of advanced orthodontic technology used to accelerate tooth movement and reduce your total treatment time. It’s used in conjunction with braces, clear aligners and other orthodontic treatments. While the frequency of your visits to Daghlian Pediatric Dentistry & Sokolowski Orthodontics will remain the same, with AcceleDent Aura, the changes in your smile will be more rapid between your appointments.
How Does AcceleDent Aura Work?
AcceleDent is a portable, removable and easy-to-use device that you can use at home for just 20 minutes each day. This device uses SoftPulse Technology®, which consists of a series of gentle micropulses that accelerate the bone remodeling process of your treatment. The mouthpiece connected to an activator gently vibrates to speed up tooth movement. These micropulses also help reduce the soreness and discomfort traditionally associated with orthodontic treatment.
Using AcceleDent At Home
AcceleDent is incredibly easy to use at home. Here are some instructions on how to use and care for your AcceleDent device at home:
- Attach the mouthpiece by plugging it into the activator.
- Turn on the activator and place the device into your mouth.
- Bite down firmly and make sure there is contact on all sides of the mouthpiece. Don’t hold it with your hands.
- Allow the device to work for 20 minutes without interruption. Don’t use AcceleDent for more than 20 minutes. While using the device for longer than 20 minutes won’t harm you, it won’t provide you with any additional benefits.
To care for your AcceleDent device:
- Keep it clean and ensure it’s charged.
- Remove the mouthpiece from the activator to clean it.
- You should rinse the mouthpiece using lukewarm water after every session.
- You may gently brush it with toothpaste, mild soap or liquid dish detergent and wipe it down with a soft cloth.
- The activate is not waterproof, so don’t get it wet.
